I don't think zombies really sense pain in the way we do. The only thing "awakened" is their motor abilities, in my mind anyway. Fire would definatly eventually make them turn into stew, though.

In most mythologies, zombies fear open flame and the occasional bright light.

Achtung,

I thought it prudent to inform you all of my progress in compiling a rough guide to proper conduct of an anti-zed raid.

Included in my report will be advice for hunting in different terrain, and what to do should you encounter a bandit or group of bandits.

I still think my idea solved the problem.

This is a nice subject, and it has brought Andrew out of the woodwork. I think we should have a PD813 Zombie movie night prior to the end of Summer, what do you think? We could watch like 2 of the best movies and just chill. I'd like to see you guys again before school starts. Welcome back Ernst, it's good to see your grim, commanding avatar!

PS If anyone wants to do the zombie night, we should start a thread in events!

I am all for this. I submit my copy of Dawn of the Dead, director's cut for review.

Most zombies are dried and rotten...FIRE LOOOVES DRY ROT!!!! so yes, fire would *hurt* zombies, in the sense that they will burn and cease to function anyway... Oh, and killing everyone is not a solution, its an alternative :(

In regard to fire, enough Napalm will do the job rather well, but remember a Zeddie doesn't feel pain. They will continue to advance untill the fire has destroyed their brian. the best option is always to destroy the brain, and burn the remains to avoid any risk of spreading the Zeddie menace.

Remember though, Napalm is a military weapon, so don't count on it being handy most the time. And even if it is, its still likely to hurt you. That will burn till it has nothing left to burn.

Once more to make the point clear though:

A Zeddie feels NO PAIN! Don't try to take one out by giving him a 'boo-boo'

Couldn't you "catch" the zombie desease if you burned them though? I mean if all it takes is for it to hit an open wound for you to contract it then wouldn't it become airborne? Then it seems that inhallation of zombie burnination would also cause you to become a zombie as well.

It seems as if in most cases the disease is not contageous when airborne, so burning the remains is a safe way to destroy them.

Well that's fortunate. Because that's not the case with poison ivy! Oh gosh have I heard some stories. Noooooot cool. People having poison ivy in their lungs and such. That sounds bad enough. I can only imagine having zombie lungs. They try to eat you from the inside out.

Were the disease to be airborn, it would most likely be like a Chlorine Gas attack, the vapours would burn out your lungs and you would die slowly and excruciatingly painfully. But the lungs would not turn Zeddie on you, re-animation only occurs after the victim has died completely, and usually takes about 30-70 minutes.
